U.S. Speaker Walter Russell Mead Speaks in Istanbul

Walter Russell Mead, Henry Kissinger Senior Fellow for U.S. Foreign Policy at the Council on Foreign Relations gave a lecture on U.S. Foreign Policy at Istanbul Policy Center, Sabanci University, on February 1, 2008. Walter Russell Mead spoke on the current state of U.S. foreign policy and how the situation might change after the 2008 presidential elections.

Walter Russell Mead spoke to ARI Movement - a forum to get young Turks to become involved in politics - on "U.S. Turkish Relations through the Prism of the Middle East." The lecture was followed by Q&A session. He also met with leading Turkish intellectuals to discuss U.S.-Turkish relations, the Middle East, current political debates in Turkey, and upcoming Presidential elections in the United States
