Follow Hub 2012 U.S. Elections @Haydarpaşa
We invite you to join us online for a first-ever U.S. Mission to Turkey virtual election program Follow Hub 2012 U.S. Elections @ Haydarpaşa in Turkey - a unique opportunity for you to interact real time throughout the election night and make your voices heard!
On the U.S. Presidential Election night, November 6, 2012, the U.S. Mission to Turkey is partnering with the Institute of Creative Minds and CNN Türk - Turkey’s leading all news channel and social media activists to foster conversations on American democracy and the issues at stake this election year between leading American thinkers, their Turkish counterparts and the Turkish public via social media. The world is eagerly watching the 2012 U.S. Presidential Race in anticipation of what the result might hold for world affairs. This is especially true in the Republic of Turkey which has a large stake in several of the global issues at the forefront of U.S. foreign policy.
Our event will take place at Istanbul’s historic Haydarpaşa Train Station alongside a virtual event which will play out over social media. Through such an innovative online platform for people to voice their opinions about major issues surrounding the 2012 U.S. Elections, we also hope to encourage greater participation in exploring ways to understand more about the impact of social media on political processes and policy issue priorities around the globe. Our virtual election night program features:
- Skype interviews with leading public personalities facilitated by CNN Türk’s Ahu Özyurt
- An exclusive Twitter Timeline for virtual participants from far and wide
- Live streaming of the program in its entirety at: http://turkey.usembassy.gov, http://istanbul.usconsulate.gov and http://www.yaraticifikirlerenstitusu.com
