U.S. Ambassador Francis Ricciardone and Dr. Ricciardone met with Presidential Scholar Ezgi Üstündağ and her father Ersan Üstündağ to congratulate them in person during their visit in Istanbul.

AMES-Ames High senior Ezgi Ustundag has been named a Presidential Scholar announced by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan on May 2.

Each year The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars, appointed by President Obama, selects honored scholars based on their academic success, artistic excellence, essays, school evaluations and transcripts, as well as evidence of community service, leadership, and demonstrated commitment to high ideals.
