Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Visits Istanbul

ADM Mullen met with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at historic Dolmabahçe Palace.  Following his meeting with PM Erdoğan, ADM Mullen flew to Ankara for meetings with President Gül and Chief of the Turkish General Staff Basbuğ in Ankara on September 15.  These meetings are to discuss a broad range of current military cooperation efforts and shared common concerns.  This is Admiral Mullen's second visit to Turkey, but first as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
