Consul General Sharon Wiener visited Istinye State Hospital to thank the police officer and driver who sustained injuries in the terrorist attack against the U.S. Consulate General on July 9.  She personally called on Osman Dağlı and Ferit Özcan and offered her appreciation on behalf of the Consulate General for their bravery, and offered condolences for the three Turkish policemen who were killed.  She met with family members, police officials and hospital staff.  Speaking to the press after the visit, the Consul General said, "We very much appreciate the support that's been shown to us by the Turkish police and by all levels of the Turkish government. We will continue to work together in fighting terrorism as we work well together on so many other issues."
