American Artists Discuss their Work in Southeast Turkey

Sharon Hayes and Vlatka Horvat, two American artists participating in the 11th International Istanbul Biennial, discussed and displayed their work at an educational program of the Biennial in southeast Turkey on August 26-27. In cooperation with the Public Affairs Section in Istanbul, the Istanbul Foundation for Arts and Culture, and the Mardin Cinema Foundation, Sharon and Vladka showed videos and photographs of their work, talked about their own work as well as contemporary art in America, and answered questions from an enthusiastic and well-informed audience of art lovers - students, academics (including the Rector of Mardin Aturklu University) and artists in Mardin, a historic city overlooking the plains of northern Syria.
