Emergency Services

Our most important responsibility is the protection of American citizens traveling or living abroad. We can assist in many ways when an American is arrested, stranded, in need of medical referral, or otherwise in need of assistance. The U.S. Embassy in Ankara and U.S. Consulate in Adana also provide emergency services.

  1. In case of an emergency involving an American citizen, please call 0212-335-9000 for 24-hour assistance.  Recorded information on consular services is available 24 hours a day by calling 0212-335-9200. 

  2. The Department of State Call Center is operational from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST. In times of crisis the Call Center is operational 24 hours a day.
