Ambassador and Consul General Kick Off ECACC Meeting
Ambassador Wilson delivered keynote remarks at the luncheon of the annual conference of the European Council of American Chambers of Commerce, held this year in Istanbul, along with AK Party Vice Chairman and Istanbul MP Egemen Bagis. The Conference was sponsored by the Turkish-American Business Association/AmCham and the American Buisness Forum in Turkey. The Ambassador stressed the importance of trade ties between the United States and Europe, including Turkey, and necessity of Turkey joining the European Union. These would reinforce economic stability, particularly critical in this troubled global financial environment. The Consul General also attended the luncheon hosted a reception in honor of the conference at her official residence, which the Ambassador attended.
