24th Istanbul Book Fair at
TUYAP Exhibition Center.

InfoUSA stand at the 24th Istanbul  Book Fair

October 8-16, 2005

For the first time this year, AIRC Istanbul participated in the annual Book Fair activities. An InfoUSA stand was setup to promote US society and values with particular emphasis on education in the United States. A wide range of material both in print and electronic format (IIP publications; InfoUSA CDs; AIRC promotional material; translated publications; Fulbright, AFS and YES brochures) was distributed to Turkish audience.  

The 24th İstanbul Book Fair organized by TÜYAP Tüm Fuarcılık Yapım A.Ş. and Türkiye Yayıncılar Birliği (Turkey Publisher Union) took place between 8-16 October, 2005 at Beylikdüzü TÜYAP Fuar ve Kongre Merkezi (TÜYAP Centre of Fair and Congress).

Around 450 publishing house and public institutions took part in İstanbul Book Fair. This year the main theme of the book fair was "Turkey in Europe and Europe in Turkey". There have been around 210 activities about this theme and 750 writers, artists, scientist, journalists, politicians participated these activities. Like every year, this year also book lovers had a chance to meet hundreds of estimated writers during book signature days. The 24th İstanbul Book Fair program included 25 story-readings, theatrical shows, theatrical book-readings and atelier activities which were specially designed for children.
