25th Istanbul Book Fair

October 28-November 5, 2006

The Istanbul Book Fair will celebrate its silver anniversary this year. Organized by TÜYAP Tüm Fuarcılık Yapım A.Ş. (TÜYAP Fairs & Exhibitions Organization Inc.) and Türkiye Yayıncılar Birliği  (Turkish Publishers Association) the fair will take place at the TUYAP Fair, Convention and Congress Center in Beylikdüzü between October 28th and November 5th, 2006. Since 1989, the fair has included culture and literature related activities, bringing together authors and their readers around a different theme each year. This year’s theme has been determined by the Consultancy Board of the Istanbul Book Fair as being "The 25 Years of the Book Fair – A Journey Story".

With the enthusiasm of passing a quarter of a century, the Istanbul Book Fair will be held this year with the participation of nearly 500 publishing companies and non governmental organizations. During the cultural events and autograph days, hundreds of authors, artists, scientists, journalists and politicians will have the opportunity to meet with the readers. The 25 th Istanbul Book Fair will be staged simultaneously with ARTİST 2006 – The 16 th Istanbul Art Fair.

American author Bharati Mukherjee also participated in this year’s Istanbul Book Fair.
